Chronic Disease Prevention Programs
Chronic diseases, such as heart disease, diabetes, and cancer, are among the most preventable of all public health problems. Island County Public Health’s Chronic Disease Prevention Program aims to strengthen the prevention of chronic diseases in Island County by addressing major risk factors—physical inactivity, poor nutrition and tobacco use and exposure. The program fosters initiatives that remove barriers and increase opportunities for healthy eating and active living for all Island County residents.
Chronic disease programs vary based on community need and departmental resources. Please see tool bar on the left for current program offerings and information.
